Have you opened a can of beans lately, or maybe some condensed milk for a recipe? If so, chances are you were exposed to the chemical bisphenol A (BPA).  On its website, the US Food and Drug Administration admits, “some studies have raised questions” about the effect of BPA exposure on “the brain, behavior, and prostate gland in fetuses, infants, and young children.” However, the agency continues to allow the chemical to be used for lining the insides of tin and aluminum food- and beverage-product cans, as a component in plastic containers, and as an ingredient in dental sealants is still permitted.

In 2012, the agency banned the use of BPA in baby bottles and sippy cups.  Additionally, in response to a petition filed last year by Rep. Edward J. Markey (D-MA), the agency published a notice on July 12 in the Federal Register, banning the use of BPA-based epoxy resins in powdered and liquid infant formula packaging.  Meanwhile, the American Medical Association, which determined BPA was an endocrine-disrupting agent, has been pressing the FDA since 2011, to ensure that products containing the chemical are labeled clearly.

Research Links Fetal BPA Exposure To Cryptorchidism, Infertility.

Health experts and consumer advocacy groups who want the chemical banned from all food products cite a number of studies linking it to birth defects.  For example, research presented at the Endocrine Society’s annual meeting on June 16 in San Francisco, indicated that males who were born with cryptorchidism have significantly higher levels of BPA and lower levels of the hormone insulin-like 3 in their cord blood than was found in newborns with descended testicles.

Another study presented at the conference found that BPA, which mimics the female sex hormone estrogen and has already been linked to female infertility, also causes long-term harm to the testicular function in males.

Study Associates High BPA Levels With Worsening Sexual Function

A study by researchers at Kaiser Permanente associated high BPA levels in urine with worsening male sexual function. The study team compared 427 workers at BPA-product manufacturing facilities with a control group of workers at plants that did not involve the use of BPA. They found that after five years, the workers who had high levels of BPA in their urine also reported a decrease in sexual desire, more difficulty achieving an erection, lesser ejaculation strength and a lower level of overall sexual satisfaction than those whose urine did not contain a significant amount of BPA.

Why We Need To Cleanse

Why We Need To Cleanse And Detox.woman-drinking-water (1)

Do you often feel bloated and lethargic? The foods we eat affect everything about us — from how we look physically to how we feel emotionally, as well as our level of energy, our ability to fight off infections and our risk for developing chronic illnesses, such as diabetes, heart disease and high blood pressure. Yet, without stopping to think about it, we put a lot of unnatural things into our bodies.

Take a few minutes to consider the last three meals you ate, did they contain:

  •  Processed foods?
  • Saturated and trans fats?
  • Artificial colors, such as the caramel color in colas, which is manufactured by heating carbohydrates with ammonium- and sulfite-containing compounds, and produces a chemical by-product called 4-methylimidazole (4-MI), a known carcinogen?
  • Artificial flavors and/or sweeteners, such as saccharin and aspartame, which studies have linked to cancer?

 BPA

Did any components of your last three meals come from a can? If so, chances are the can was lined with bisphenol A (BPA).  The US Food and Drug Administration recently banned the use of BPA in baby bottles, sippy cups and infant-formula packaging. On its website, the agency says “some studies have raised questions” about the effect of BPA exposure on “the brain, behavior, and prostate gland in fetuses, infants, and young children.” However, the FDA still allows the chemical to be used for lining the insides of tin and aluminum food- and beverage-product cans, as a component in plastic containers, and as an ingredient in dental sealants.

 Arsenic

Did you have water or juice with any of your meals yesterday? If so, then you likely ingested a certain amount of inorganic arsenic.  The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) allows public drinking water to contain 10 parts per billion (ppb) of the semi-metal element, which gets into the system either by erosion from natural deposits or by waste runoff from glass- and electronic-manufacturing facilities.

Conversely, in setting the standard, the EPA noted that studies have linked arsenic to an increased risk for “cancer of the bladder, lungs, skin, kidney, nasal passages, liver and prostate.”

Moreover, the FDA follows the same standard, allowing fruit juices and bottled water to contain 10 ppb of such inorganic arsenics as dimethylarsinic acid (DMA) and monomethylarsonic acid (MMA), which equates to about 10 micrograms per liter.

Out with the bad, in with the good

So now that you know a little more about all the unnatural and inorganic things you’re consuming daily, are you ready to cleanse and detox your body of the things it doesn’t need? By doing so, you’ll not only be removing toxins from your body, you will be making room for more nutrients that you do need while simultaneously improving the vitality of your kidneys and liver, which help to remove to some of the junk we put in our bodies.

Additionally, by engaging in a cleansing and detoxification program, you’ll be conquering bad eating habits while increasing your metabolism, making it easier to maintain and control your weight and turn fat into muscle.

Moreover, your skin will become clearer and more elastic; your arteries, veins and nerves will be relieved of the irritation and pressure the toxins were putting them; and you will be happily surprised to find that are having fewer and fewer episodes of gas, belching, bloating, indigestion, nausea and constipation .  At the same time, your immunity and infection-resistance will be strengthened and you’ll notice an improvement in how your muscles are functioning as well as a significant increase in energy.

Organic and Inorganic Arsenic

Naturally occurring geological arsenicarsenic-poison-bottle

When most people hear the word “arsenic,” they think of the organic, carbon-containing versions (such as monosodium methanearsonate and disodium methanearsonate), which are used as pesticides.  For the most part however, organic arsenics have not been found to be detrimental to human health.

In their natural form, these semi-metallic elements are found in rocks, soil, and ground and surface water.  In fact, there are more than 200 different types of arsenic sulfides and minerals; and organic arsenic is even in the atmosphere, particularly near metal processing industries such as mining operations and smelters.

Food, consumer products contain inorganic arsenic

The US Department of Health and Human Services’s Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry has designated inorganic arsenic, which is formed when arsenic is combined with elements other than carbon, as a carcinogen.  These cancer-causing types of arsenic are typically used during industrial processes.

For example, wood-product manufacturers use inorganic, chromated copper arsenate (CCA) in products such as residential decks and porches, picnic tables and playground play sets to ward off insects and to protect wood from rotting and from microbial contamination, such as mildew.  Although the industry has been making an effort to discontinue using CCA, there are no federal regulations prohibiting it as an ingredient in consumer products.

Meanwhile, experts say that the most abundant source of inorganic arsenic is found in drinking water. It is also found in juices and other drinks that contain water as well as some foods, such as carrots and rice.  This is because waste runoff from factories causes inorganic arsenic to get into drinking-water and food-irrigation systems.  In addition to wood products, inorganic arsenics are used at plants that manufacture ammunition, metal adhesives, and lasers and semiconductors as well as at factories that process paper, paints and dyes, glass, textiles and leather products, and even some pharmaceuticals.

Up until 2011, the poultry industry used an arsenic-based animal drug — 3-Nitro (roxarsone) — to help prevent coccidiosis, an intestinal parasitic infection that occurs in chickens and other animals.  However, similar organic, arsenic-based drugs are still used in the feeds given to food-producing poultry and swine.

Additionally, a form of inorganic arsenic is a component in cigarettes; and environmental studies have confirmed its presence in the indoor air of homes with residents who are smokers.

 Cancer risk, other health problems

Studies have linked the ingestion of inorganic arsenic to bladder, kidney, liver, prostate, lung and skin cancers.  Moreover, research has associated inorganic arsenic intake with reproductive and developmental toxicity as well as an increased risk for congenital heart disease.

Meanwhile, the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) allows public drinking water to contain 10 parts per billion (ppb) of inorganic arsenic but its presence has been documented at higher levels in rural water sources and personal wells.  Still, the US Food and Drug Administration follows the EPA’s standard, allowing fruit juices and bottled water to contain 10 ppb of such inorganic arsenics as dimethylarsinic acid and monomethylarsonic acid.

These organisms live and reproduce within the tissues and organs of infected humans, and are often excreted in feces.

The symptoms of “Toxic Overload”

From ancient times to modern day, body cleansing has been one of the most important factors in maintaining good health. The human body is always in a state of self-cleansing; the liver, kidney, and colon rely on a healthy diet for the vital nutrition required to carry out their processes.

Lack of sleep, anxiety, poor diet, excessive medication, and lack of exercise can weaken or disrupt the delicate balance of internal cleansing. The average diet is full of over-processed, over-cooked foods that are seriously lacking in nutritional value and containing surprising amounts of saturated fats, sodium, and chemical additives. All of these are major contributing factors to obesity, heart disease, and diabetes, and are the leading causes of colon disorders in the world. “Toxic overload” occurs when toxins from chemical food preservatives, pesticides, and medications are not promptly removed from one’s system. Toxins are broken down and stored in the liver and kidneys, and recycled through the bloodstream. As the body begins to suffer, and “toxic overload” is ignored, various health related conditions begin to appear.

As “toxic overload” overwhelms the body, putrefied waste and mucoid plaque form on the walls of the intestines. Keeping the blood clean and pure becomes harder and harder as the colon slows from the invasion of toxins. When the colon becomes impacted or weakened, the normal channels of elimination cease to function. Getting nutrition from the foods you eat becomes a difficult task as more and more toxins are absorbed into the bloodstream. This continuous process of toxin absorption and storage is a disastrous combination.

How can colon cleansing promote successful bodily function? Why is it necessary? While results and improvements may vary from person to person, some of the more common results are weight loss, improved skin condition, and an increase in energy. You may also see relief from conditions such as constipation, IBS, bloating, chronic diarrhea, and diverticulitis. The lists of personal and medical improvements as a result of colon cleansing is long. Although results may vary from person to person, one thing everyone has in common is the health and longevity gained from a clean and properly functioning body.

Choosing an effective and well balanced cleansing program is the first and most important step to effective cleansing results. You will immediately notice the elimination of impacted waste and mucoid plaque. As this happens, toxins that have been stored in the body can be easily removed from the body. Supporting the cleanse with a healthy diet and regular exercise is a smart way to begin new habits, and will give the body added support in the rejuvenation that is taking place.

For those who have not cleansed before, it is highly recommended to cleanse for 60 to 90 days. The impacted wasted that may be removed varies from putrefied waste to mucoid plaque. Once the body starts eliminating waste, the stored toxins will have a way out. The cleanse should keep things moving, you may see parasites, they are quite common and can be found in numerous places: our drinking water, pets, and the foods we eat. Choose a program that covers all the areas of cleansing, this will give you the best results.

The Benefits of Colon Cleansing: Restoring Good Health

The colon, liver, kidneys, and blood are designed to be in a constant state of cleansing. Therefore, the foods we eat are vital to the nutrition necessary to support healthy body function. Detoxifying your body on a regular basis will help to maintain the healthy functioning of these processes.

Today’s diet, which consists of over-processed and over-cooked food, is a major contributing factor to obesity, diabetes, and heart disease. It is also the leading cause of colon disorders in the world. The highly processed foods that we eat have an alarming amount of saturated fats and chemical additives. The delicate balance of cleansing can be weakened or disrupted by a poor diet, anxiety, lack of sleep, lack of exercise, or excessive medication. When toxins from pesticides, artificial food preservatives, and medications are not quickly eliminated from the body, they are broken down and stored in the liver and other vital organs. This creates a “toxic overload,” and the body begins to suffer. Body odor, bloating, headaches, constipation, and weight gain are a few examples of a long list of symptoms that are typical of poor body maintenance.

The liver works overtime to filter and eliminate harmful toxins. The onslaught of toxins slows down the vital organs such as the liver, colon, and kidneys. Keeping the blood clean and pure becomes more difficult as the signals of “toxic overload” are overlooked and the body is consumed with internal poisons. Mucoid plaque and putrefied waste form on the walls of the intestines: thus, colon function slows down or becomes impacted. The normal passage of elimination is made more difficult as a result. An increasing amount of toxins are absorbed into the blood, and nutrition from the foods you eat are not as efficiently absorbed. As this vicious cycle continues, the combination of toxins and blockage are a recipe for disaster.

The important benefits of colon cleansing and its ability to restore healthy body function are apparent in the results. The results of colon cleansing vary from person to person and may include glowing skin, increased energy, and weight loss. You may also see relief from other conditions like IBS, diarrhea, diverticulitis, constipation, and bloating. The list of symptoms that are commonly improved as a result of colon cleansing is lengthy. Through cleansing, as long a process as it can potentially be, you are able to live a healthier life. Your body will be clean and function more efficiently.

A properly formulated internal cleansing program will start the healing process right away and begins with the elimination of impacted waste build up. Afterwards stored toxins will be able to be eliminated from the body. This gives the body the opportunity to heal itself and start functioning on a normal basis. The cleansing program along with a sensible diet and regular exercise program will promote healthy new habits.

When cleansing for the first time, 60 to 90 days is recommended. This will ensure athorough and effective cleanse. You may also experience anything from a variety of strange looking bowel movements to parasites. The presence of parasites is not unusual as they are found in just about everything, from foods, pets, our drinking supply, to traveling abroad. To get the best results, look for a cleanse that has formulas that address all the different areas of cleansing.

What exactly is a parasite?

A parasite is an organism that lives on or in other organisms where it obtains nutrients to live and causes harm to its host.you, me, our pets. There can be over 100 different types of parasites living in human bodies. Some are microscopic in size while others can be seen quite easily.

Roundwormsare the most common parasite and they look similar to an earthworm. They can produce 200,000 eggs daily. Approximately 1 billion people are infected worldwide. Pinworms infect one in five children. Symptoms are itching and irritation, digestive disorders, insomnia, irritability or nervousness. The female worms lay about 15,000 eggs per day and once airborne, the eggs can survive for two days just about anywhere. Pinworms are white and can grow to about half inch in length. Worldwide, about 500 million are infected with pinworms.

These organisms can be found everywhere in our environment. Parasites can be in the air we breathe, the water we drink, or the food we eat. Parasites are responsible formany health problems because they secrete toxins and rob essential nutrients from our bodies. Those of us who are suffering from intestinal parasite infections are under-nourished and weak and may also suffer from viral, fungal, or bacteria infections. Human intestinal parasites can be present in any person, at any age, which is why cleansing your body is so important.

Humans create the perfect living environment for parasites when the bowel becomes slow and ineffective in the elimination of waste. This allows for the build-up of fecal material on the walls of the colon and provides ideal living conditions for parasites. The toxic build up of impacted waste is attributed to the low fiber content of the Standard American Diet in combination with the staggering amounts of junk food, over-processed foods and chemicals we consume on a daily basis.

Parasites are hard to detect

Living inside us, parasites are sly creatures and are rarely discovered. Infecting more than 90% of the population these menacing creatures compromise our health by wreaking havoc with our immune system and depriving us of vital nutrients. They are hard to detect and unfortunately most medical tests only catch around 20% of them. Testing for parasites is only available for about five percent of the known varieties with about twenty-percent accuracy. Detoxologie’s Cleansing Programs can help rid your body of these unwelcome guests

So, you don’t think you have parasites? … Think again!

Parasites are prevalent in our food, water supply, gardens, pets, the air and environment. Most of us think only of people in third world or developing countries when we think of parasites and we seldom even consider the thought that we may be infested ourselves.

YOU MAY HAVE PARASITES LIVING IN YOUR BOWELS, YOUR INTERNAL ORGANS AND YOUR BLOODSTREAM

Common symptoms:

  • fatigue/ anemia
  • diarrhea/constipation
  • boating / gas
  • weight gain
  • breakouts and rashes
  • trouble sleeping
  • weak immune system
  • digestive disorders

The vital importance of colon cleansing

Colon cleansing is crucial to good health. Make sure the body cleansing program you select includes an effective anti-parasitical. The Standard American Diet, artificial food additives, large amounts of refined sugars, saturated fats and junk food are all major contributors to poor elimination and the variety of intestinal conditions that plague so many of us. Parasites love sugary, starchy foods. Living in the impacted waste they help themselves to our food and reproduce at alarming rates.

Detoxologie’s Purify¬Æ is the number one anti-parasitical available today. Purify¬Æ is effective, safe, easy to use and specifically formulated to target parasitical infections.

Toxic Body Burden: The Effects and Damage to Your Health

Most Americans have not heard of “toxic body burden” or “internal body cleansing” but it’s a hot topic among environmentalists and public health experts who warn that the industrial chemicals we come in contact with every day are accumulating in our bodies and endangering our health in ways we have yet to understand.

What are these chemicals and how do they enter our bodies?

Since the 1940s, approximately 87,000 new chemicals have been produced in the United States alone. Only about three percent of synthetic chemicals have been tested for their cancer-causing properties, and even fewer have been tested for hormone disrupting properties.

These man-made chemicals are the building blocks or byproducts of pesticides, fuels, detergents, plastics, and many household objects. They can be found anywhere from cheese to plastic wrap to children’s toys and teething rings. Some common examples are Dioxins, Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), and DDT. Even though DDT was banned for use in this country in 1972 it is still manufactured domestically and sold abroad. These chemicals do not observe international boundaries and travel freely through the air and water. For example, DDT sprayed in Peru to control mosquito populations can end up in the breast milk of an Aleutian mother five years later.

Environmental toxins enter our body through the food we eat, the water we drink, and the air we breathe and may remain in our bodies for decades or even a lifetime. Whether you live in remote Alaska or Calcutta, India, your body is harboring between a dozen and five hundred chemicals in measurable quantities. On every continent and in every body of water, hormone-disrupting chemicals are found in the air, soil, plants, and in the bodies of animals, including humans.

“We are the guinea pigs in a dangerous and unnatural experiment in the United States, and I think it’s unconscionable,” said Dr. Leo Trasande, assistant director of the Center for Children’s Health and the Environment at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City. Trasande says that industrial toxins could be leading to more childhood disease and disorders.

Dr. Trasande goes on to say “We are in an epidemic of environmentally mediated disease today. Rates of asthma, childhood cancers, birth defects and developmental disorders have exponentially increased, and it can’t be explained by changes in the human genome. So what has changed? All the chemicals we’re being exposed to.”

Internal body cleansing could be the best health insurance around and you should never underestimate the importance of keeping your body as free of environmental toxins as possible. Your journey to a clean body starts here.

Living In A Toxin Free Home

We like to think of our home as a safe place in a world full of hazards. Yet some of the things you see right in your own home can harm your health. The good news is that for every toxic household product you find in your home, there is a safe alternative.

Here are some easy things you can do to reduce the level of toxins in your home.

  1. Wash your windows with vinegar and water. Ammonia can hurt your eyes and lungs, and burn your skin. Mix half of a spray bottle with distilled white or apple-cider vinegar and fill the other half with water. Spray on your windows and wipe with a soft cloth for a nice shine that will be free of streaks.
  2. Use cozy, all-natural cotton flannel sheets on your bed. Do not use polyester sheets which have more than likely been treated with formaldehyde. When you are exposed to formaldehyde it may irritate your skin and cause respiratory problems.
  3. Install a carbon monoxide detector in your home.
  4. Use sweet sachets instead of toxic moth balls. Mothballs are made from 100% par dichlorobenzene, a powerful toxin that can cause headaches or an itchy nose and throat. Over time, it can hurt your liver and kidneys. Mothballs look and smell like candy, so watch that your kids do not eat them. Keep your wool clothes free from the toxins in moth balls–make sachets from dried lavender, dried rosemary and mint, or whole peppercorns.
  5. Use a natural soap instead of detergent to clean dirt. Detergents may appear to be safe, but they are petrochemical-based products. Soap on the other hand is made of natural oils and minerals and has been safely used for many years. Mix all-natural liquid dish-washing soap with water to clean your entire home. A little bit of soap goes a long way so if you use too much, you will have to spend a lot of time to get the soap bubbles off what you were cleaning.
  6. Do not use plastic water bottles. It is good for you to bring your own water to work and drink it during the day; but if it comes in a clear polycarbonate plastic bottle, it will leak a toxic substance – Biphenyl-A (BPA) – into your water. BPA can disrupt your hormones and shut down the reproductive organs. BPA can also harm breast tissue and slow prostate development. Instead of plastic, drink from a glass, aluminum, or stainless steel container.
  7. When you make a meal, use fresh, organic, foods to avoid toxic pesticides. Most fresh produce sold in supermarkets is sprayed with pesticides that have been linked to cancer. Look for pesticide-free organic food grown near your home.
  8. Take a botanical bath. Many bath products contain detergents and artificial fragrances that can make your skin dry and rough. Add dry herbs-lavender, rosemary, or peppermint-to your bath water, relax and have a nice warm bath. You can also add buttermilk or bath salts.
  9. Use water-based pens and markers. Look at your pens and markers and throw away any with “permanent” ink. They contain very toxic solvents such as toluene and xylene.
  10. Clear the air in your home with house plants. Houseplants are pretty to look at and make the air fresh. They absorb the carbon dioxide we exhale and release the oxygen that is vital for us to breathe. Some plants, such as the spider plant, take away air pollutants
